If you have 16 hours to listen to this book, do so. I'm now inclined to go after other books by Stephen King and read them. I n ow realize that I've allowed the Stephen King's film to define my view of the books and they are not the same. If you like the film you will love the book, get it read or listen to it.it's a great investment in literature. The Audio book is read by Campbell Scott and he's does a great job adding life and depth to the story.
The film is worth watching and owning and watching once every three months, but just like an abridgment and leave a lot out the film doesn't even begin to do justice to the the book, and the book is awesome! Never again will I truly enjoy a movie without reading the book. Much like an apple is like a pear, they both have flesh and grow on trees, but they aren't really the same. The film and the book are related, but then again they are different. I am not a Stephen King fan! I liked the movie, The Shining, but then I like the actor Jack Nicholson and Shelley Duvall.
